Valentine Boy was ok after being vanned off the track at Del Mar

             I flew to San Diego to see California Chrome race and to check up on my favorite horse that was vanned off the week prior. I sent a nasty little email to the FNS racing barn and told them my dissatisfaction with their not updating Valentine Boy's status for all we knew he was euthanized and I was in tears. Then an email popped up from his trainer Felipe Souza who informed me Valentine Boy was indeed ok that he sometimes did not want to run and was acting strange in the last stretch of his 1mile and a 1/16 race at Del Mar the Jockey Rito Almanza had panicked thinking he was breaking down and pulled him up from finishing the race of which he was leading and took his saddle off. This means the van will now come and assess the horse, he was loaded in the van and that was the last we saw of Valentine Boy!
